Terms of Use

By creating an account or using the udctFamily website or mobile applications (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

The Service is intended for current and former students, faculty, and members of the UDCT/UICT/ICT community. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

2. Account

  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate, current information when registering and keep your profile up to date.
  • One person, one account. Impersonating another person or institution is prohibited.

3. User Conduct — Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content

You agree not to post, share, or transmit any content or behaviour that:

  • Is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or discriminatory.
  • Promotes self-harm, dangerous activity, or illegal goods or services.
  • Infringes the intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of others.
  • Contains spam, scams, phishing, fraudulent job postings, or unsolicited advertising.
  • Contains malware, exploits, or attempts to disrupt the Service or other users.
  • Impersonates another user, institution, or public figure.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Violations may result in immediate content removal and account termination, without prior notice.

4. Reporting and Blocking

Every album, photo, comment, chat message, job post, and user profile in the app and on the website includes options to:

  • Report objectionable content or abusive behaviour to our moderators.
  • Block any user. Blocking instantly removes that user's content from your feed, profile views, and chat threads.

Our moderation team reviews every report and acts on objectionable content reports within 24 hours, by removing the content and, where appropriate, suspending or terminating the offending account.

5. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant udctFamily a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content within the Service for the purpose of operating it. You are solely responsible for the content you post.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, its design, logos, and original content are owned by udctFamily and are protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer the Service.

7. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete My Account in the website or mobile app. Deletion is permanent: your profile, posts, photos, comments, and applications will be removed from the Service. Backups are purged within 90 days.

8. Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, for any violation of these Terms or for behaviour that harms other users or the community.

9. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, udctFamily is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
